Day 5 – Teamwork is the best way

As the Cycle4Europe route continued from Sarajevo on Monday, a new group of cyclists had joined us. TeamBEWiSynbra Team 2 consists of Sebastian Norberg, Martin Flinta and Johanna Edman. Later on, Mimoza Rubovici will join the team as well.

The cycling started at the Sebilj Fountain, a well-known symbol of Sarajevo, located in the Bascarsija Square. From there the team went up north through Bosnia, with Banja Luka being the final destination of the day.

Team 2 had a good start, with good weather, nice views and beautiful landscapes. The route went through the countryside, over hills and through valleys and small town. At lunch time though, the team was taken aback both by heavy rain and by a flat tyre. Fortunately, less than a mile from where one of the cyclists got a flat tyre, in the middle of nowhere, the team found a hardware store and the problem could quickly be solved.

The day continued in good spirits and soon before entering Banja Luka the team passed a beautiful footbridge leading over a stream were the team could take a swimming break. When they reached the hotel in Banja Luka everyone was tired but satisfied with the day.

A special recognition goes out to Johanna Edman, who’s never done this type of long distance cycling before. She’s a well experienced runner and swimmer, but this was a new experience for Johanna and with great support from the team she exceeded all expectations. Working together certainly is the best way to do it. Good job everyone!
